Roz Goddard was Birmingham’s Poet Laureate in 2003–2004, which saw her produce a Christmas poem Looking for Holly, A Night at The Royal for Shakespeare’s birthday and Learning and Me to celebrate Adult Learners’ Week. Her work is permanently displayed in BMAG’s gallery. She teaches Creative Writing at Birmingham University and is an experienced workshop leader. Roz Goddard as worked with the West Midlands Libraries as Poet in Residence for the Poetry on Loan project, helping people develop confidence as readers of poetry as well as writers.

A previous residency saw Roz Goddard and Dave Reeves at the Walsall Museum and Art Gallery running workshops for Manor Farm, Watling Street and Blue Coat school children to write poems in response to exhibits. Roz Goddard edited and compiled The Sun Shines on it, a book of poetry written by children. She is editor of Raw Edge, a magazine of new writing by writers based or working in the West Midlands.

Roz Goddard is studying for an MPhil in Writing at Glamorgan University.
