Sarah Hymas was born in Harrogate, Yorkshire and now lives near Lancaster.

She collaborates with writers, musicians and artists. Her poems have appeared in The British Council’s New Writing 15, Soul Feathers, The Rialto, Orbis, Smiths Knoll, Agenda, Washing Square Review and Magma as well as in multimedia exhibits, dance videos, improvised operas and theatre brochures. She is a Hawthorden Fellow.

She also works as an editor and coach for Lancaster’s Literature Festival and their publishing imprint, Flax. She facilitates writing workshops in the community for adults and in schools with children.
